CSN GIVEAWAY

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.
In honor of my 300 plus followers and my one-year blog anniversary, CSN is offering one lucky Single Nester reader a $35 gift certificate for use at one of their 200-plus online stores!

You can find so many great things.

Items such as corner tv stand where you can organize all of your electronics in one handy place.

Speaking of organization, I like this product - You can store jewelry, bathroom items or craft supplies in its compartments.

As a tea fanatic, I might use my gift certificate to purchase this - So much tea, so little time.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post having to do with your favorite Valentine memory.

It could be a hot date you remember fondly or a handmade card given you by a child. Or maybe a romantic trip you took to celebrate the day or a piece of chocolate you savored.

Only entries that include this information will be considered. All others will be deleted.

One entry per person and please make sure you have a valid email address so I can get in touch with you.

Giveaway ends Friday, February 11th, 2011 at 5pm EST.

Good luck to all.

Check out CSN for fabulous finds!

And, thank you so much for following The Single Nester and for making my first blogging year a great one!

When I first met my sweetie, he gave me a handwritten love note on valentines day. He still does the same each year.

Fun giveaway! Congrats on so many followers!!

My fave V-Day memory is when my husband and I were first married and very poor. We set a $10 limit on our gifts to each other and we both got each other fun things. We both really got into it and got inventive with our gift finds. It was fun and meaningful.

Every year a new memory is created by my husband's love for cards! He can't ever give me just one. He always gives me a funny one and a romantic one (even when we were dating). THEN he writes something sweet as well. He ALWAYS tops me in the v-day card giving.

Gosh I guess one of my favorite Valentines when my son gave me a teddy bear of a girl and boy and it represented us as Mom/Son...he had some tags on it saying that and when you push the button it sung I Got You Babe byt Sonny and Cher. He said that he always knew his Mama was always there for him no matter what the circumstance. Aww this mama cried when I received this especially since he was a teenager.

for my first valentine's day with my boyfriend, he sent a bouquet of flowers to my work. the card read "less than three". (which, in internet speak, is a sideways heart: <3 ) it made my day! :)

Happy blogiversary!!! Woo hoo!! My favorite Valentine memory, hmmmmmmm when I was dating my first "serious" boyfriend I took over my mom's kitchen and made him dinner with candlelight and all! Ok, not a great memory but it was my first meaningful valentines day. My hubby is not a romantic so I got nothing there! :)

One of my favorite Valentine memories is preparing an elaborate, candlelit dinner for my kids (all adults). We had a champagne toast and they were both surprised and elated!

Well I love that my best friend has a Valentine's Day party for her girl friends. Some of us are married, some of us are single and some of us are divorced. But for a few hours each year we are just "girls" having a lot of fun together.

Congrats on your one year and 300 followers! Your blog rocks.

One of my favorite Valentine memories is my father bringing me a cardboard heart filled with hershey kisses every year. It is a tradition I continued with my sons.

As a fellow "Single Nester" Valentine's Day isn't the best day of the year. However, working in a florist shop for 5 years provided me with tons of funny stories of poor guys trying to figure out which flowers they want and how they are going to pay for them.

My favorite Valentine memory was way back when I was in 4th grade. I got to skip school that day in order to spend the morning getting ready and the afternoon participating in my mom's wedding to my wonderful stepdad. So not only is it my favorite memory, but getting a great stepdad was the best Valentine present as well!

My favorite Valentine memory was when I was in high school. Me and my girlfriends we decided to buy each other a rose. We were all single so we celebrated friendship. I miss this time!

Oh, dear....I am not a fan of Valentine's Day. I always tell my husband, I would rather him do something weeks before or weeks after so it will be extra special, not an industry telling him to. I know I am such a party pooper. But I can share something that is so special he did for me one of those times. I am also not a material girl. "Things" dont really tell me my worth, but on three occassions my husband, who is NOT a romantic type, wrote me poems telling me how much he loves me. A big deal, bc again.....so not him. And I could tell that he did indeed write them, it was obvius and so appreciated. In fact, I framed the three of them and they hang above my nightstand, so it is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at the end of a day. His "love letter" to me...and his printed messages of the value of our marriage to him. And priceless to me. Love that man.

My entry is about a special gift I received from my sweet husband for our first Valentine's Day after we were married. I was dieting & he knew I didn't want candy, so he bought me this adorable charm for the charm bracelet he had gotten for me as a wedding gift. It's like a tiny card and says "I Love You Sweet Valentine" and I still wear that charm bracelet often. This happened 41 years ago. Good luck to everyone and Happy Valentine's Day.

Congrats on 300 followers. My favorite Valentine's Day memory is when I was ten years old and my parents had just told me a few weeks before they were getting divorced. They let me stay home from school and my mom took me out for lunch and my dad took me out for a daddy/daughter date. It really let me know that they both still loved me.

Congrats! A very successful blog and following.

My favourite Valentines memory was when my son made me a necklace from paper - and told me that I was his "bestest mother". I still have that necklace even though my son is now a father of his own family.

My husband isn't romantic most of the time, but occasionally, he'll write me a poem. Last year, he used hot glue and fake flowers to decorate a picture frame, and put a poem inside that he had written for me. C:

Happy anniversary!

oooh Vday of 2009! My boyfriend and I had just moved in together (now husband!) and we ordered thai takeout and sat on our furniture-less floor eating and watching office re-runs on the laptop =)

When I was about 7, my mother got me this musical Valentine's card that played "Let Me Call You Sweetheart." This was back in the 80s, when these cards were still novel. Unfortunately, the card started playing the music even when it was closed because the mechanism wasn't very sensitive, so she shut it up in a book and forgot about it. Months later, by which time my mother's forgotten which book she put it in, annoying music starts blaring out of her bookcase, and she starts grabbing every book off the shelf, shaking it and tossing it on the floor in a desperate quest to stop the horrible sound! I still can't hear that song without smiling!
